BA flight attendant’s expensive rookie mistake
A new British Airways flight attendant had a first day to forget.
The flight attendant accidentally deployed the inflatable emergency slide on a passenger jet.
The snafu cost the airline an estimated £50,000.
The plane had just left the gate when the emergency slide deployed.
It initially sparked an emergency situation with ground staff rushing to the aircraft.
The slide was released from the aircraft.
It caused a four-hour delay for passengers.
BA issued an apology for the delay.
The new crew member was reportedly derostered and sent back for retraining
