BA join cricket fever
British Airways has joined the cricket fervour gripping the nation by offering cut price tickets to Australia. Well, possibly.
The flag carrier is offering flights to Sydney and Melbourne according to how many runs Australia score in the first innings of the fifth and final test, which starts tomorrow.
And just how many of the tickets will go on sale is up to England’s batsman – it will be determined by how many runs Michael Vaughan’s heroes amass in their first innings at the Oval.
The best outcome for travellers would be a repeat of the Lords test where the Aussies were skittled for 190. But there would only have been 155 of them as England were also bowled out cheaply.
The second test at Edgbaston would have rendered 407 tickets at £308 , Trent Bridge 477 tickets at £218 and at Old Trafford 444 tickets at £302.
