BA pilot appeals against sacking
A British Airways pilot is appealing against the airline’s decision to sack him for gross misconduct after he allegedly sent a sexually explicit photograph of himself to a female passenger.
The pilot, who had more than 20 years service, is believed to have met the woman on a flight operated by another airline. They were both passengers at the time and following the flight he is alleged to have sent her a mobile phone picture message of a sexual nature.
Airline bosses held a disciplinary hearing after the woman complained to police and the pilot was dismissed. He has since launched an appeal.
A BA spokesperson confirmed an internal process was still ongoing.
