BA supports Ebola charity
British Airways is temporarily redirecting its onboard charity collections to help the global Ebola appeal.
From November 9-22, all money raised through its passenger collections will go towards the fight against the disease.
Usually the airline supports Flying Start, a global charity partnership with Comic Relief.
In October, passengers raised over £230,000 for this charity – the highest monthly amount recorded in 20 years for charity.
"We are humbled by the generosity of our customers, who, despite the many fundraising appeals they are faced with, gave more than ever before last month," said Mary Barry, BA community investment manager.
"We hope for the same throughout November to help support those in dire need of our support."
The airline has also funded trucking for Oxfam to provide essential water and sanitation to reach those affected by Ebola in Africa.
To date, British Airways has raised £8.8 million for Flying Start since the partnership launched in 2010. All the money raised supports projects in the UK and around the world, to help vulnerable and disadvantaged children.
