British Airways is to give away hundreds of tickets for a special Concorde tour in a competition launched today.

Winners will get the chance to win tickets for a farewell tour of the UK at the end of October.

The tour will be the last ever chance to watch Concorde fly over the UK and will include visits to Birmingham, Cardiff, Edinburgh, Manchester and Belfast .

During the week of October 20, the supersonic aircraft will visit a different city each day. Competition winners will win a pair of tickets for one leg of the tour, which includes a champagne flight reaching twice the speed of sound over the Bay of Biscay.

BA director of marketing Martin George said: “This competition marks the first in a series of events we have planned to ensure that Concorde gets the send off she deserves.”

To win one of the 325 pairs of tickets callers should ring 09069 150 001. Calls will be charged at £1 per minute and cost no more than £2. Any profit from the competition will be donated to charity.
