BAA shares fall despite good performance

There were mainly small falls for travel and tourism shares yesterday as London’s main equity indices dropped back slightly. The FTSE 100 index lost 10.4 points to end the day at 4973.2, while the FTSE 250 had a similar session, falling 23.2 points to close at 7241.9. Shares in BAA fell 1.5p to 594.5p despite the airports operator announcing that it served a record 141.7 passengers in its last financial year. This figure represented a 6.3 per cent increase on the 12 months to 31 March 2004.
