Balearic Islands launches save water campaign
A new awareness campaign will encourage visitors to save water in the Balearic Islands
The Balearic Islands Tourism Strategy Agency hopes it will help mitigate water shortage issues.
Xisco Mateu, the Director of the Balearic Islands Tourism Strategy Agency said:”These initiatives are also crucial for increasing the resilience of the islands when facing future droughts”.
The campaign consists of a video and a series of short clips explaining the individual needs of the region, followed by advice and a call to action.
This Balearic-specific campaign will spread the word online in the five languages of the archipelago’s main tourist markets: English, French, German, Spanish and Italian.
All campaign content can be accessed through the project’s microsite, which is also available in five languages, in addition to an accessible QR code that can be found on partner tourist accommodation sites.
Workshops and meetings with the tourism sector and local administrative bodies will also be held in order to communicate water saving initiatives.
