Bali in security clampdown
Planning a Bali holiday in early October?
You may want to reconsider your dates to avoid the expected crush as 21 heads of government and their entourages, plus 250 CEOs from Indonesia, arrive in town for the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation summit
Access to the Nusa Dua resort enclave will be restricted due to a huge security clampdown for the October 1-8 talkfest.
Security will also be tight at Bali’s Denpasar airport, which has been given a major makeover in time for APEC.
The bonus is that once the government hordes have flown home, holiday visitors will enjoy a much improved airport experience, supported by the completion of new road infrastructure.
