Bali marathon ready to race and rock
The BIZNET Bali International Triathlon, now in its seventh year, is set for Sunday, June 23.
Registrations for the event are running more than 50% ahead of last year for the Olympic distance, sprint and 5km fun run.
Corporate challenges will see three-person teams share cycling, swimming and running responsibilities.
The event will be headquartered at the InterContinental Resort from where the Olympic distance event will begin with an early morning 1.5km swim in Jimbaran Bay.
Swimmers will return to the transition area in the gardens of the hotel to start a 42-km cycle leg, returning again to the hotel to start the final 10km run on a new course past the Four Seasons resort in the direction of the AYANA Resort and Spa.
There will be a cocktail party on Friday night, pre-race bicycle tours of the race routes, traditional bike blessings, race briefings, high-carbohydrates dinner on the eve of the race and the popular rock-the-race party on the esplanade at the AYANA Resort.
The five-star hotels of Jimbaran will return to support the 2013 race, including the InterContinental Bali Resort, AYANA Resort and Spa Bali, Four Seasons Resort at Jimbaran Bay and, joining the event for the fist time, Le Meridien Bali Jimbaran.
