Baltic Holidays capitalises on no-frills growth
Baltic Holidays is building on the growth of no-frills flights to the region by increasing its range of holiday options for 2005. The operator has added to its packages in Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia by introducing tour and cycling holidays from Poland to Russia, taking travellers to the more remote areas of the Baltics. Baltic Holidays managing director Phil Teubler said: “We’ve seen a massive increase in interest in the Baltics since the countries joined the EU in May 2004. Carriers have increased daily flights to the region due to demand and Air Baltic is adding direct flights to Riga from Manchester and Vilnius from Gatwick, increasing competition.” Teubler said the area offered a huge range of holidays from beach packages to spa trips. He added older clients were attracted to the countryside and the craft and amber markets.” Baltic Holidays’ Poland to Russia tour costs from £1,561 per person and takes in five Baltic countries. Meanwhile, the operator has three cycling tours, costing from £1,099 per person, to unspoilt areas of the Baltics, which visit villages that have remained unchanged in the past 50 years.
