Ban on adverts ‘politcally motivated’
A ban by Transport for London on adverts for North Cyprus has been described as politically motivated and an attack on free speech.
A hearing at the High Court heard that Transport for London banned the adverts last November after a complaint from the chairman of the London Assembly Brian Coleman.
It said the adverts for Turkish-controlled North Cyprus were likely to cause widespread or serious offence.
The North Cyprus Tourism Centre is attempting to overturn the decision.
The hearing continues today.
