Bandits, leeches and rock slides – all in a day’s work
Avis’ Lisa McAuley is to embark on a 9-day, 180 mile trek through the Himalayas to raise money for cancer support charity Macmillan.
Following the support her family received from Macmillan in the last few weeks of her mum’s life, the head of UK leisure sales at Avis hopes to raise £5,000 completing the Annapura Circuit in November to pay a little back.
The trip comes with warnings – inaccurate maps, bandits, leeches and rock slides may all have to be dealt with as she walks for nine hours a day in high altitude.
