Banff ski fam trip was ‘possibly one of the biggest ever’
Not Just Travel is expecting to see a jump in sales to Banff after it took 43 of its home-working travel consultants to the Canadian ski resort.
It said the trip, supported by the Alberta Tourist Board, Banff and Lake Louise Tourism, Inghams, JTA and Air Canada, was ‘possibly one of the biggest ski educational trips ever seen in the industry’.
Steve Witt, co-founder of Not Just Travel and The Travel Franchise, said: "The super-sized ski trip opened people’s eyes to a whole new year-round destination. Alberta offers not just skiing and snow-boarding, but is a true multi-activity and sight-seeing centre within everybody’s reach. We are convinced that sales will increase as a result of this trip. There’s nothing better than a personal recommendation and one consultant even making a sale to Canada while she was out there.
"Most people’s reaction is that Canada is too far to go for a week’s skiing, however they couldn’t be more wrong. It also costs a lot less than most people think."
During the trip, the agents did skiing, snowboarding, ice-skating on the frozen Lake Louise, dog-sledding, and the Johnston Canyon Ice Walk.
They also visited various hotels and properties, took afternoon tea at the famous Fairmont and watched the Calgary Flames play ice hockey against the Vegas Golden Knights.
One travel consultant even raced in a local 5k ice race in minus 17 degrees – and won.
