Bangkok Airways scores with Borussia Dortmund partnership
Bangkok Airways is keen to lure more Germans and fans of the beautiful game onto its Asia flight network after signing a partnership deal with Bundesliga titans Borussia Dortmund.
The two-year sponsorship deal will feature advertising and promotional initiatives across Southeast Asia, China, Hong Kong, India and Bangladesh, and co-branding activities.
Dortmund is also in talks with the Sport Authority of Thailand and Thai FA officials to hold special coaching programmes for Thailand’s national youth teams up to under-19 level.
"We are so proud and excited to partner with Borussia Dortmund, eight-time German champions. With Borussia Dortmund’s strong global brand presence and a huge fan base, we believe that it will strengthen Bangkok Airways’ brand image as Asia’s Boutique Airline," said Bangkok Airways’ president, Puttipong Prasarttong-Osoth.
The airline and Borussia Dortmund will also work to attract inbound tourism to Thailand through various promotions.
The deal comes just days after Dortmund’s biggest rival Bayern Munich scored its own airline partnership with Qatar Airways.
