Bangkok protestors back on the streets
Protestors are back on the streets of Bangkok, occupying government buildings but posing no threat to tourists in what has been, so far, a tense but peaceful demonstration.
The anti-government protests have seen the large crowds target several government buildings and TV stations.
Protesters entered the Finance Ministry compound in the capital in what appears to be an escalating anti-government campaign to topple prime minister Yingluck Shinawatra.
Protesters say they want Yingluck to step down amid claims that her government is controlled by her older brother, ousted former leader Thaksin Shinawatra.
Monday’s rally came a day after 100,000 marched in protest against Yingluck but avoided a confrontation with a large rival crowd supporting the prime minister.
Police have tightened security at the protest destinations, which included the military and police headquarters and the five television stations controlled by the military or the government.
