Barrhead director quits

Barrhead Travel’s commercial director Sue Jarvis is to leave due to family reasons.

The company said she had decided it was no longer possible to travel to Glasgow on a Monday to Thursday basis and work from home on a Friday.

A spokesperson for Barrhead Travel said: "We fully appreciate and understand Sue’s position. She has been a valued member of the Barrhead Travel team for many years and we will miss her knowledge and experience tremendously.

"It’s not unusual for senior staff members to travel from England to Scotland every week and we currently have four others doing this.

"We have enjoyed working with Sue very much and wish her well in the future. The Barrhead Travel door remains open should she ever decide to move to Scotland permanently."

Jarvis said "I have enjoyed my time at Barrhead Travel and it is with sadness that I am leaving the company to move back to the North East due to family reasons."

Barrhead said it was reviewing the role of commercial director and will be re-allocating her duties.
