Barrhead Travel to open Plymouth store to springboard expansion in south west
Barrhead Travel has confirmed the locations of Oldham, Halifax and Plymouth for new store openings in the New Year.
It says Plymouth, which will be one of the Scottish agency’s most southern branches, will be a springboard for growth in the south-west.
The majority of roles in the new shops are being filled by former Thomas Cook employees.
So far, Barrhead has recruited over 100 former Thomas Cook staff across the country.
Barrhead plans to open up to 100 new stores across the UK as part of an expansion drive under its new owners, US-based Travel Leaders Group.
It has recently opened shops in Liverpool Allerton Road, Burnley, Widnes, Isle of Wight (pictured here) and Newcastle-under-Lyme.
Jacqueline Dobson, president of Barrhead Travel, said: "The communities where we have opened so far during our expansion project have been very receptive to Barrhead Travel; many of the teams are well known in their local area and have extensive experience in the travel industry – it’s a winning combination."
A further five openings are due to be announced in the New Year.
