Industry veteran Travis Tanner to lead global sales team for world’s third largest travel management company

Amsterdam, The Netherlands, 8 June 2006 – BCD Travel, the expert in corporate travel for a growing global workforce, today announced that it has appointed Travis Tanner as Executive Vice President of Global Sales. The news follows on the heels of recent announcements regarding the growth of BCD Travel’s global partner network, and reinforces the company’s drive to capitalize on its global and local strengths, integrated technology platform and service capabilities in order to serve clients around the world.

Tanner joins BCD Travel from Sky Chefs, where he held the position of COO for the Americas since 2004. He is an industry veteran whose extensive experience and expertise include positions as President of Carlson Travel (1985-88), Executive Vice President of Walt Disney Attractions (1989-93), and CEO for Carlson Wagonlit Travel (1993-99). He has been named Travel Management magazine’s “Travel Agency Person of the Year” and one of 25 most influential travel executives for six consecutive years.

Tanner sees a natural fit between his own philosophy and that of BCD Travel: “Throughout my career, no matter what position I held, I found that time spent facing the client was always the most valuable. I’m pleased to be part of a company whose commitment to understanding the needs of its customers is matched by its ability to propose innovative, streamlined solutions for those customers – preparing them, no matter their size, to withstand the turbulence of the travel industry.”

Commenting on Tanner’s appointment, BCD Travel CEO Mike Buckman said, “Travis has a proven track record of achievements as CEO, COO and EVP of Fortune 500 and large privately held companies and BCD Travel will benefit from his extensive leadership skills. His experience will enable us to move quickly as we capitalize on our successful global launch.”

In a separate announcement, BCD Travel revealed that former head of Global Sales Mary Ellen George has been designated to head up the company’s newly created global consulting practice. That business unit will focus on advisory and project management services designed to optimize clients’ strategic, financial and operational performance. The group will help clients around the world manage the impact of industry dynamics and take control of their program’s overall performance. Prior to her Global Sales and Professional Services role at BCD Travel, Ms. George was WorldTravel BTI’s Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing, and also served previously as President of WorldTravel BTI’s West division and as President of Corporate Fulfillment Services (CFS), WorldTravel’s automated online fulfillment solution.

BCD Travel simplifies and streamlines the corporate travel process, helping companies manage and control the movement of their people, information and resources. The company focuses on implementing an integrated, seamless technology platform throughout all global locations to provide full access to and analysis of travel data for these clients. Clients can take advantage of BCD Travel’s presence and technology infrastructure to track every trip, every traveller, and the costs incurred throughout every journey.
