Bedbank.net improves offering
Bedbank.net, a joint venture between Future Travel and technology specialist The Vertical Group, is redeveloping its site with extra accommodation and admin tools for agents.
New destinations including Brazil, Canada, South Africa and the US have been added while an extended programme to Greece and Cyprus is about to introduced as well as a Caribbean programme including Jamaica and Barbados.
Bedbank is also enhancing the service for agents with better accommodation descriptions and maps with an emphasis on improved information for city-break destinations.
A further development due next month is a facility enabling agents to print confirmation and accommodation vouchers on the spot. The enhancement represents a major step forward for Bedbank with agents currently only able to provide customers with confirmation, according to the company.
Vertical Group chief executive Peter Healey said: “We’re adding new accommodation on a daily basis and making the entire booking process easier and more seamless for agents. In a very short space of time Bedbank has developed into a market leader.
“We expect to gain further ground through the demise of accommodation service Phoenix. Bedbank has already picked up a significant share of its former customers.”
Bedbank claims to be on target to hit turnover of £10 million in 2006 following a 200% rise in turnover last year.
