Beer seems a more likely choice
The Motel 6 chain, which boasts it has the lowest price of any national chain, has a somewhat unlikely promotion: tying it to wine tours.
“Motel 6 invites travelers looking for a destination full of local character and fantastic scenery to take a tour through the wineries of the Pacific Northwest,” the site says, adding:
“Featured on Motel 6’s Goin6.com trip-planning micro site, the Pacific Northwest Wine Tour allows travelers to plan their route through the region’s unique locations. By staying at Motel 6 along their tour, travelers can save on accommodations, allowing them to spend more on the delectable wines of the regions.”
“The Pacific Northwest Wine Tour is an experience for wine connoisseurs and novices alike,” said Olivier Poirot, CEO for Accor North America, Motel 6 and Studio 6. “With Goin6.com, travelers can easily arrange their lodging at Motel 6 in advance and spend their time exploring the hundreds of wineries in the area.”
Motel 6 says it offers the lowest price of any national chain at more than 1,000 company-owned and franchised locations throughout the United States and Canada.
For 24 years, Motel 6 has used the tagline, “We’ll leave the light on for you®,” earning the chain the highest brand recognition in the economy lodging segment.
