Belgian airline resumes Sharm flights
TUI owned Belgian airline Jetairfly will resume flights to Sharm El Sheikh this weekend.
It is the latest airline to restart flights to the Red Sea Resort in time for the winter season.
Jetairfly suspended flights a year ago, at the same time as the UK Government and other governments suspended flights to and from the airport.
Their decision came in the aftermath of the Russian Metrojet plane crash in Sinai, which was believed to have been caused by a bomb placed on the plane before it took off from Sharm airport.
Other governments have since lifted their suspensions, but not the UK Government.
The Egyptian Tourist Board said it was a signal that the Belgian government believes Egypt has taken the necessary steps to improve security at its airports.
Jetairfly, which is part of the German-based TUI Group, will operate two flights a week (Sundays and Tuesdays) for the upcoming winter season.
