Best Western brings a new ‘Vib’ to Asia
Global hospitality group Best Western International has unveiled plans for its latest brand debuts in Asia.
Vib, an urban boutique hotel concept will be launched in South Korea, said Best Western International President & CEO David Kong.
Vib – pronounced ‘Vibe,’ will cater to travellers seeking innovation, technology and authentic, local flavour, Kong said.
“We believe that the stylish design of Vib combined with the concepts business model and low cost to build will be very appealing to developers and investors throughout Asia,” he said.
“The Vib project we are developing is in the heart of the central business district of Gangnam, Seoul and is expected to break ground in the next six months. We believe the central business district’s high density and energy is the perfect fit for Vib,” said Best Western South Korea President John Choi.
Best Western’s soft brand BW Premier Collection is also coming to Asia.
“The BW Premier Collection offers a compelling proposition to independent hoteliers who want to lessen their reliance on online travel agencies without a long-term commitment,” Kong added.
Kong also noted there are 50 primarily new build hotel projects underway in India, China, and Indonesia and a further 37 hotels representing over 6,000 rooms in the pipeline in the ASEAN region.
