Swedish regional carrier Skyways is to link Birmingham with Stockholm. The airline will compete with Duo on the route with two flights a day Mondays to Saturdays and a daily Sunday service from 28 March. Skyways will use a 48-seat Embraer 145 jet on the route, with connections to almost 20 destinations across Sweden. The airline has also co-ordinated timetables with SAS to offer other connections in Scandinavia, Finland and the Baltic states. Skyways operates 31 aircraft on 11 international and 18 domestic routes, carrying 1.3 million passengers last year. Report by Phil Davies
