Blade in shoe a no-no
A Virginia man visiting Honolulu was charged with attempting to board an aircraft with a concealed weapon after an airport screener found a blade hidden in one of his shoes.
Randall Rustick, 3, of Fairfax, Va., broke into tears in the courtroom, according to the Associated Press.
Mr Rustick was arrested while on route to Kauai with his wife and four children.
A screener spotted an object in his left shoe that turned out to be a 4-inch-long blade.
The charge against Rustick, who is out on bail, carries a maximum penalty of up to 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
