Blushes over BA’s new uniform
Stewardesses working for British Airways have reportedly complained because skirts that make up part of their new cabin uniform have a tendency to split.
According to a report by the Daily Mail columnist Richard Kay, there has been a “flood of complaints” on BA’s internal staff website, because “as the stewardesses sashay down the aisle, their skirts have an embarrassing tendency to catch on the seats and tear”.
One stewardess is quoted as saying: “I caught my skirt badly on an armrest and it ripped right up to the zip, much to the amusement of the passengers around me. Luckily, I had a sewing kit. I had to remove myself from service and go to the loo to sew it up.”
British Airways has reportedly assured Mr Kay that the problem has now been fixed.
