Bmi’s website redesign reflects new focus on business travellers

Bmi is redesigning its website in time for the start of its winter timetable on October 26 with a new focus on business travellers.

A new home page has already gone live and the rest of the site will be unveiled over the coming weeks.

Marketing director Katherine Gershon said: “A major part of our redesign programme was to make the navigation as clear and intuitive as possible so our customers could access the information they wanted in the fewest possible clicks.

“We also wanted to break away from traditional airline website design and re-create the feeling of flying on the website itself. The usage of flickr photography does just that and enables us to engage with online communities and we are really excited by the social networking opportunities of this relationship.”

Reflecting the airline’s new emphasis on the business travel market, the site will have improved registration processes, easier access to bookings, and an improved frequent flyer member area.
