Board reshuffle at BAR UK
BAR UK has announced changes to its board following the career changes of two of its key members.
It has appointed Barry Humphreys, director of external affairs and route development for Virgin Atlantic, as deputy chairman.
He replaces Paul Ellis, previously general manager airports policy for British Airways, who has assumed more responsibility in a new role as GM infrastructure. He is longer able to provide the commitment to the board but remains the alternate delegate for BA.
Tom King, GM regulatory and political affairs at BA, has been elected to replace Ellis as a board director.
Stephen Thompson, regional GM for Qantas, has also joined the board, replacing Simon Bean who has left his post as regional GM UK and Europe for Air New Zealand.
BAR UK respresents 92 scheduled airlines in their dealings with the government, regulators and airport operators.
