Bob Steel chucks in the towel

Industry icon Bob Steel, announced his retirement yesterday as Managing Director of Travelscene American Express, effective immediately.

Travelscene American Express COO Mike Thompson said in a release, “Bob has worked over the past thirty years to develop Travelscene American Express, formerly United Travel Agents Group; UTAG Travel; Travelscene and ultimately Travelscene American Express, into the pre-eminent industry force that it is today”.

He added, “More recently Bob was instrumental in driving the merger between Travelscene American Express and S8.”

“Bob has indicated his desire to devote more time to his family and his many and varied external interests, not least sailing.”

The Mole wishes Bob all the best in his “retirement”!
