Boeing booking 7E7
Boeing announced it was ready to start selling its new mid-sized, wide-body 7E7‘s . And while there were no order announcements, Airwise News quoted experts as saying the move could reinvigorate the company’s business. “I think we are going to have some very major customers step up early and order the airplane,” Alan Mulally, president, was quoted as telling reporters. Airwise said speculation was that Japan’s All Nippon Airways might sign up, but they have yet to place an order. The 7E7 – due to enter service in 2008 – will replace the slow-selling 757, which Boeing is discontinuing and the 767 line. The 200-to 250-seat 7E7 is specifically designed to save airlines money on fuel and operating costs.
