Bogus agent jailed for £1.2m travel scam
A travel agent was handed a hefty prison sentence for a travel scam affecting hundreds of customers.
Lyne Barlow ’was jailed for nine years for £1.2m fraud.
When complaints started flooding in , she pretended to have terminal cancer.
She even stole the identity of her own mother.
She was described as having an ‘extraordinary talent for dishonesty’ by the judge.
Durham police said it was one of the biggest fraud schemes ever investigated.
Last year she pleaded guilty to identity theft, fraud and money laundering.
