Bomb blasts injure Myanmar golfers
Two bombs exploded at a Myanmar hotel golf course last weekend, wounding two people.
The blasts occurred at the Regina Hotel golf course near the border with northern Thailand. Two people were reported to be wounded by the second bomb and sent to hospital in Thailand.
The blasts occurred at the golf course while it was holding a golf tournament for the upcoming Armed Forces Day, marking the day in 1945 when the army confronted occupying Japanese forces.
Myanmar has been hit by several bomb blasts in recent years, most of them minor, which the authorities have blamed on armed exile groups or ethnic minority fighters.
