Bomb scare on Delta plane
A Delta Air Lines jet was forced into an emergency landing in Ireland over the weekend because of a bomb scare. Flight DL27, from Frankfurt to Atlanta was forced to land at Shannon airport following the discovery of a note in one of the plane’s toilets. According to The Independent newspaper, a spokeswoman for Aer Rianta, the company that operates Shannon airport, the note suggested that there may have been a bomb on board the Boeing 767-300. The 147 passengers on board the plane were disembarked after it was parked well away from the airport terminal, and were all questioned by police, who reportedly confirmed that the incident was “security related”. Delta reportedly told The Independent that the passengers, having spent last night in a hotel, would be flying out of Shannon at 1pm today.
