Bonza opening Gold Coast base
Aussie airline Bonza has revealed its third base at Gold Coast Airport.
The carrier will base two aircraft there.
It will connect Gold Coast with existing destinations it flies to, including Cairns, Melbourne, Rockhampton, and Townsville.
“We’ll be adding new destinations to our route map that will fly from the Gold Coast,” Tim Jordan, CEO of Bonza said.
“This is about creating more depth in our network.”
The aim is to link ‘underserved markets that we know would benefit from low-cost flights.’
Bonza forecasts about 70 new flights weekly from Gold Coast Airport.
It says the expansion will create about 100 new jobs.
The hiring process will begin straight away.
According to Amelia Evans CEO of Queensland Airport, the expansion will generate about $100 million in in economic impact for the region
