Adventure Sports Holidays has seen its bookings grow by nearly a third this year, compared with 2009.

The online portal, which features adventure trips from Explore, Intrepid, The Adventure Company and Neilson plus 100s of smaller operators, achieved a 31% rise in bookings.

Managing director Luke Rees said this was down to a 12% growth in traffic and a 29% increase in enquiries.

“This has been our most successful year to date,” said Rees.

“This has been done whilst also redeveloping our network of sites. All in all it has been a very good year and with the new look sites which are a lot faster, easier to use, with new programming and with lots of new features it should be a great year ahead.”

Rees said of the 80-plus sports and activities promoted on the site, the 10 most popular on the network over the last 12 months in terms of bookings have been as follows:

1 Kitesurfing
2 Multi-Activity
3 Surfing
4 Snowboarding

5 Windsurfing
6 Scuba Diving
7 Trekking
8 Skiing
9 Mountain Biking
10 Rock Climbing

“Most growth has been seen in kitesurfing, multi activity, scuba diving and rock climbing all with over 50% growth,” he added.
