Bookings open for Seabourn’s latest
Seabourn’s new 32,000-ton Seabourn Odyssey [pictured right] will go into service on June 24, 2009, and bookings will open to the general public on Monday November 5.
The 450-passenger luxury liner’s first sailing will be a 14-day cruise from Venice to Istanbul. Past passengers on a waiting list have been given first preference but with capacity for 450 passengers there will be plenty of room left, including some of the 225 suites, 90 per cent with private balconies.
Odyssey will sail in Europe until the end of October 2009 before relocating to the Caribbean and in early 2010 undertaking the first world cruise of a Seabourn vessel.
During her magnificent 108-day world cruise she will sail in Australian waters. Departing Fort Lauderdale on January 5 2010, she will visit Melbourne on February 22, Sydney on February 24-25, Cairns on March 1 and Darwin on March 4, 2010.
People interested in the world cruise which will touch five continents and include a range of exotic ports where passengers can experience Seabourn’s exclusive excursions can put their names on a waiting list for reservations, which will open on February 1, 2008.
The new liner will feature a two-deck spa, with a waterfall and private terrace for an outdoor massage, plus a new area called the Seabourn Square offer upmarket shops, an internet café and outdoor terrace and coffee bar.
Odyssey promises to live up to the reputation for excellence Seabourn vessels have gained. In the January 2007 readers of Condé Nast Traveler magazine gave Seabourn the highest scores among cruise lines in the categories of Food and Service.
