Bosses quit as Teletext merges online and TV holiday brands
Two bosses are to depart as Teletext Holidays Online and Holidays on TV are merged into a single division.
Teletext Holidays Online managing director Ray Mason is leaving the company after an initial move to Teletext’s parent company’s offices (the Daily Mail group) in Kensington, London, to oversee completion of the group’s travel project, travelmail.co.uk.
Stephen Dunk, managing director of Teletext Holidays on TV, is also quitting next month to take up a new position within the travel industry.
Matt Cheevers will head the merged division in the newly created position of Teletext Holidays managing director, reporting to group m-d Mike Stewart.
The merger will enable advertisers to promote products across all Teletext services including its online, TV and mobile platforms via one dedicated team, the company said.
Cheevers said: “The continuing evolution of the travel market requires that we regularly review the way in which we structure our Teletext Holidays business. We have a unique multi-platform product and by merging two departments it enables us to offer our clients a simplified way of accessing our products.
“Following on from the unveiling of the new Teletext positioning last week we are now all committed to developing a range of products that are more relevant to today’s market.”
Teletext claims a daily audience of 7.1 million people and more than two million unique users a month on its teletextholidays.co.uk website.
