Bournemouth Airport terminal expansion plan approved
Plans to expand terminal facilities and infrastructure at Bournemouth Airport have been given the green light.
It is part of an ongoing £50 million investment at the airport.
The existing arrivals and departures buildings are set to be extended and will be joined together as a single terminal building.
It will see upgrades to baggage and security screening, while enhancing passenger facilities.
Airport management said the project will create at least 230 direct jobs.
Plans were approved the Council’s planning committee this week.
“This decision ensures Bournemouth Airport can continue to serve as a vital regional asset, creating jobs, supporting businesses, and delivering connectivity for the future,” said Steve Gill, Managing Director of Bournemouth Airport.
“It allows us to invest in the facilities, services, and infrastructure needed to support growth sustainably.”
The work also includes significant improvements to transport infrastructure.
There will be improved access for buses, taxis and cyclists with a redesigned transport interchange.
The airport will fund £500,000 for a new regular bus service.
