Bowden-Doyle replaces Stewart as Accoladia md
The board of accoladia has announced that Simon Laxton will be stepping down from his current role as managing director, and that Richard Bowden-Doyle (pictured) has been appointed in his place.
Alan Stewart, who was appointed Chairman of the accoladia Board at the beginning of 2002, said: “Over the last 12 months Simon has played a key role in the amalgamation of Thomas Cook Holidays and British Airways Holidays to create a single integrated business. His knowledge and experience have been invaluable throughout this process and we owe him a debt of thanks.”
“Since forming accoladia in December 2000 we have built a strong foundation for a business that has excellent growth potential. We now need to secure the value that this business can generate. Richard has vast experience of the travel industry. The combination of his strategic and commercial skills will help us take accoladia through the next stage of its development and help us to realise our ambition to become the leading scheduled tour operator in the UK.”
Dale Moss, Director of Sales Worldwide, British Airways and member of the Board of accoladia, added: “I want to take this opportunity to thank Simon for his enormous contribution in making accoladia a reality. His early guidance and direction was fundamental to the joint venture’s formulation and on behalf of everyone at British Airways we wish him well in his next role.”
