Brand hotel sales hot
Brand hotel sites account for 75% of internet reservations, according to the first-ever hotel marketing metrics survey conducted by the Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association and Smith Travel Research.
Other findings of the study:
—Brand.com reservations increased 32.5% in 2003 over 2002.
InterActive Corp. with Expedia, Hotels.com and Hotwire combined market share represented 11% of the total reservation volume.
—The total third party share of online reservations shifted from 23% to 25% from 2002 to 2003.
—Amadeus had the largest gain among GDS providers, but Sabre sill had 50+% of volume.
