Brand USA attracted one million extra visitors in 2013
The marketing efforts of Brand USA have paid off with an extra 1.1 million overseas visitors to the US.
A report which focuses on research conducted by Oxford Economics, said the 1.1 million visitors represents a 2.3% increase directly attributed to Brand USA marketing.
It said Brand USA had a 47:1 return on its investment in its core overseas markets of Canada, Mexico, Japan, South Korea, the UK, Germany, Brazil and Australia.
Brand USA has full time marketing personnel based in these eight countries along with a presence in a further 12 international territories.
The report, entitled ‘the Return on Investment of Brand USA Marketing’ said its global marketing strategy had a positive impact of generating an additional $3.4 billion in visitor spending.
This in turn generated $3.8 billion in GDP and supported 53,000 new jobs.
The report shows Brand USA spent $72 million on markeing for fiscal year 2013.
Brand USA is the first-ever official destination marketing organization for the US and has a contract to provide tourism marketing until September 2015.
