Branson singing more than country tunes
Branson, Missouri, long known as a drive-in destination for country music fans, is expanding its appeal to other tourist sectors.
The area is also now a home for theme and water parks. Families are attracted to its Silver Dollar City. Large outlet malls have opened to make the area a desirable shopping Mecca.
Three local lakes are also drawing outdoor enthusiasts.
The American Bus Association has named Branson among the top four motor coach destinations.
In the past, the area has had limited air service, but that is changing. The former Springfield-Branson Regional Airport has been renamed the Springfield-Branson National Airport with direct service to ten US destinations.
