Brit tourist in intensive care after knife attack in Thailand

A British tourist is in intensive care after an alleged attack by other foreigners in Pattaya, Thailand.

According to an eyewitness, Andrew Joseph Cook, 36, from Manchester, was travelling with three other people in a car when he was savagely attacked.

He was thrown out of a car and then stabbed by the car’s driver.

He was found by the roadside with serious knife wounds and was rushed to hospital.

According to Thai police, Cook’s face was slashed and he suffered chest and stomach wounds

He remains in intensive care in hospital.

A local taxi driver witnessed the attack and alerted the police.

“A white Toyota Veloz drove into the parking lot. Two foreign men and one woman got out of the car. I heard shouting and then the car sped away. The foreign man was lying on the ground in pain,” the taxi driver told the Daily Mail.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Suthiraphan Tapsri said: “We are urgently working on intercepting the car.”

“The British man is still unable to give a statement. Our initial investigation shows he knew the attackers, and an argument could have led to the attack.”
