British Airways operates first Sabiha Gokcen Istanbul flight
British Airways has launched Istanbul flights to new airport Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen.
Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen has become the latest destination to join British Airways’ network and will operate four times per week on A320 and A321 aircraft.
Sabiha Gökçen serves 154 destinations across 51 countries on 45 airlines.
In the first four months of 2023 it handled nearly 14 million passenger movements.
BA flew the Istanbul flight service with an all-female flight crew in honour of Sabiha Gökçen, the world’s first female fighter pilot.
BA Head of Corporate Sales in Europe, Elisabeth Ruff said: “We’re excited to open up even greater connectivity between two of the world’s leading cities, Istanbul and London.”
British Airways becomes the 45th airline to operate to Sabiha Gökçen.
The international air hub is located on the Asian side of Istanbul.
