A Scottish cruise ship guest was found dead in a pool while the ship was docked in Italy.
Marella Cruises confirmed a guest aboard the Marella Voyage died as the ship was on a call in Naples.
The man from Scotland has not been named but was 83 years old.
He was found unresponsive in the swimming pool, according to local Italian media.
“We can confirm that sadly a passenger passed away of natural causes onboard Marella Voyager. Our thoughts are with the passenger’s family during this difficult time, and our care team is providing assistance,” the cruise line said.
The UK Foreign Office said: “We are supporting the family of a British man who died in Italy.”
The Marella Voyager is on a Mediterranean round trip voyage from Mallorca with calls to Rome, Ajaccio, Corsica, and Palamos in Spain.
