British tourist killed on Thai elephant trek
A British tourist was trampled to death while on an elephant trek on the Thai holiday island of Koh Samui.
Both the man and his teenage daughter were reportedly thrown off the back of the animal.
The Bangkok Post said 36-year-old Gareth Crowe, who was from Scotland, was trambled on and gored by the elephant’s tusk. His daughter is believed to have been treated in hospital.
The Foreign Office said it was aware of the incident and was offering consular assistance to the man’s family and seeking further information from local authorities.
