Brochure website ramps up technology
Onlinetravelbrochures.com has confirmed it has entered into a strategic alliance with technology firm Digital Alternatives in a move that will create direct links to tour operator websites and enable customers to view video content.
New technology will also enable operators to track how many people are scouring their brochures, what pages they are viewing and how many continue to enquire about a product or book.
Page-turning technology with flash and sound will also feature.
Digital Alternatives sales and marketing director Les Csonge said operators can either select the new enhanced features on the site or remain with the current system.
But the costs of taking advantage of the new technology will come at a premium. Digital Alternatives declined to reveal the costs although it is expected to far outstrip that of the £1 per page operators currently pay.
“Tour operators can minimise printing and postage costs yet utilise an unlimited supply of current brochures with unlimited distribution possibilities,” said Csonge.
Details of the alliance emerged as Onlinetravelbrochures claimed its number of page views hit the one million milestone.
Managing director Paul Green said the site receives 2,500 individual visitors every day.
“This clearly shows that viewing brochures online is becoming widely accepted and more commonly utilised by the industry,” he said. “The agreement with Digital Alternatives offers a wider service to tour operators as the sales and marketing possibilities become limitless.”
Visit Britain, American Holidays and Kumuka have become the latest companies to add brochures to the site.
