Brussels Airport terror attack victims remembered
Brussels Airport will hold a ceremony on March 22 in memory of those who were killed and injured in a terror attack a year ago.
There will be a brief early morning ceremony in front of the Zaventem departure hall and the unveiling of a statue, ‘Flight in Mind’, by artist Olivier Strebelle.
In total, 11 people died and 90 others were injured when two terrorists blew themselves up in the departure hall on March 22 last year.
Victims and relatives of those who died have been invited and the ceremony will be attended by Belgium’s King Philippe, Queen Mathilde and Prime Minister Charles Michel, who will greet the victims and rescue workers.
There will also be a minute’s silence for the victims and King Philippe will lay a wreath.
