BTA sponsor profile

Earlier this year the British Travel Awards announced that an exclusive media broadcast agreement had been signed with City TV broadcaster Made Television.

Under the agreement with the BTAs, Made Television has been promoting voting by broadcasting at regular intervals a series of standalone features across Made Television’s network of channels, as well as online and via its social media channels.

The actual Awards ceremony will be filmed and broadcast in a two-hour special programme on November 24, with the programme including stage award presentations and Made Television’s presenters linking to a series of montages and interviews with travel industry people attending the event.

TravelMole spoke to MadeTV ‘s marketing director Victoria Clapham

This is Made Televisions’s first year as the Broadcast Media Partner – what’s it all about?

The agreement with the British Travel Awards provides us with the opportunity to create inspired, original programming content that will capture the imagination of our viewers and help build more awareness and engagement of the Awards among its target demographic. It’s a natural affiliation for us and a great platform to showcase some distinctive new programming

What do you hope to get out of the broadcast partnership?

We hope to raise the profile of Made Television and our City TV network, which currently reaches over 2.8 million viewers each month, in four cities – Bristol, Leeds, Tyne & Wear, Cardiff – with more coming onboard very soon.

We’ll be connecting with the fantastic range of companies involved in the event and we hope those that don’t already work with us realize the potential audience they could reach by working with us in the future.

Do you think your viewers will be interested in the British Travel Awards?

We’ve been promoting BTA voting featuring prizes in the Prize Draw and our viewers have certainly reacted to that. Once all the votes are counted the BTAs will be able to track the votes made as a result of Made Television’s coverage. We’ll ensure the Gala Awards Evening programme is produced to show off the best of the UK’s travel companies and hope to portray it as the glamorous, fun evening it is …. And who doesn’t love watching an Awards Show?

What benefits will the broadcast partnership give BTA sponsors?

The BTA sponsors who gave prizes for the voting incentive prize draw have already received great TV exposure for their brands and product. On the Awards night we will be interviewing sponsors for inclusion in the two-hour Awards programme; we’ll also be filming the stage ceremony and those who are sponsoring Awards will be filmed presenting the awards and of course those receiving awards will get on telly! We’ll be filming the attendees too, so make sure you’re looking your best!
