Easyjet customers can now use Nectar points to buy flights.
The deal between the low cost carrier and the UK’s largest loyalty scheme allows customers to buy flights without any restrictions on dates and without a time limit.
Customers can either pay entirely with points or with points and cash.
The initiative will receive marketing support from founding Nectar scheme retailer Sainsbury’s with in-store promotions.
Sainsbury’s CEO Justin King said: “Our customers often ask for new ways to spend their Nectar points and flights are one of the most popular requests. Easyjet joining Nectar now means that many families will be able to book flights in time for their summer holidays with the points they have collected through simply doing their weekly shop at Sainsbury’s.”
According to Easyjet, around one million Nectar point collectors already have enough points to buy flights to Malaga, Alicante, Nice or Amsterdam and it is estimated that approximately 300,000 flights per annum will be booked using Nectar points.
