Bula Fiji Tourism Exchange, the largest gathering of tourism product wholesalers in the Pacific Region opened yesterday and agents from Australia and New Zealand were out in numbers to identify the best products to sell.

China and Japan were also stronly represented at the 11 year old event.

Bula Fiji Tourism Exchange Chairman, David Voss said this years event had attracted 660 participants from all over the world, which was a clear reflection of the interest which region had created in the international tourism market.

He added that with the exchange having a wide spectrum of tourism wholesalers, it gave all industry stakeholders in Fiji and the region the perfect opportunity to sell their products, adding that the unique feature of the program was that it brought to Fiji, wholesalers that usually dealt with other Pacific Island destinations like Tahiti.

The exchange made some wholesalers realise that each island nation in the Pacific had their unique experience to market.
